Map a Network Drive
Windows
- Open This PC
- Shortcut on your desktop or taskbar
- Open the Start Menu and type “This PC“
- Click on the “Computer” tab in the top-left of the window
- Under the Network section, click on “Map network drive“
- In the Map Network Drive window, enter in the following information
- Drive: Choose any drive letter from list
- Folder: Enter in the UNC path to the network drive
- Check “Reconnect at sign-in” if you would like this drive to auto-map each time you sign-in to the computer
- The network drive will attempt to map to the network drive using the account of the user currently signed-in to the computer. If you would like to use other credentials to access the network drive, check “Connect using different credentials”
- If using different credentials, enter in “ufad\” or “shands\” before you username (ex. ufad\jdoe)
Disconnect a Mapped Network Drive
Windows
- Open This PC
- Shortcut on your desktop or taskbar
- Open the Start Menu and type “This PC“
- Locate the “Network locations” section where your mapped drives are located
- Right-click on the drive you would like to disconnect and click “Disconnect“
Navigate to a Network Drive
Windows
- Open This PC
- Shortcut on your desktop or taskbar
- Open the Start Menu and type “This PC“
- Locate the Address Bar at the top-left of the window. It will show below the Computer and View tabs
- Type or paste the UNC path to the network folder and press Enter on your keyboard
